Art for Conservation
I'm very fortunate to live my dream of creating portraits that evoke emotional responses. For me there is no greater reward than to see my images used in international campaigns to end whaling & shark finning, protect dolphins & turtles, promote environmental awareness and help increase social awareness.
Art for Conservation was created as a way to give back. I have selected three images to raise funds. The first is a baby Southern Hemisphere Humpback Whale titled Happy Life and printed on canvas. Ten percent of the proceeds of this image will be donated to the Whale Dolphin Conservation Society. The second image is of an Oceanic White Tip Shark printed on canvas. Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society International. The third image is of a young Humpback Whale on canvas. Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Pacific Whale Foundation.
In addition to the sale of fine art, I have donated libraries of images to these organizations for campaigns to help protect sea life.

About this portrait – We spent hours observing a Southern Hemisphere Humpback Whale teach her newborn how to breathe. Sensing we were not a threat the mother whale allowed the newborn to come over and check me out. Looking into her eyes I wished for the baby a happy life.

About this portrait – I was diving in Kona Hawaii about five miles off shore looking for Pilot whales. Everyone got in the water and followed the whales. I did the same for a minute and remembered a friend once said that behind a school of whales is usually a oceanic white tip. He was right. I looked back and there was a big shark cruising right towards me. I have to admit I was scared at first but after the initial shock I was more in awe than anything else.
