artist statement

My goal is to create compelling images of nature that reflect beauty, and drama, as well as provoke an emotional response. My hope is for people to come together not only to save whales but, to keep mammals like us off the endangered species list.

Currently two collections are offered and each is limited to 90 prints. Each portrait will be signed, numbered, and come with a certificate of authenticity. Portraits are printed on canvas and are gallery wrapped ready to hang. Select from two sizes, standard and wall size.

In order to control quality, all of the printing, curing, and finishing is done at our studio. We use environmentally finishing techniques, as to not pollute our air, water, and ozone. By taking responsibility for each piece from beginning to end, we are able to produce the highest quality and guarantee our work.

I donate 8-12 portrait sessions a year to raise money for schools in Hawaii, and donate fine art for worthy causes like cancer, aids research, local hero's, and hardship cases. I also support Whale Trust, whose mission is to promote, support and conduct scientific research on whales and the marine environment. While not a scientist, I am able to contribute to conservation by creating art that is compelling and raises awareness, and  funds for research.  I am proud to donate ten percent of all fine art sold during the year, and 50% during the Whale Quest Symposium to Whale Trust.
