Maui Landscape Workshops
Maui is perfect for landscape and nature photography. There are beautiful beaches, waterfalls, bamboo forests, streams, valleys, pasturelands and agricultural lands. The light is best after dawn and before sunset. Maui has many microclimates so there are always places to go. Prior to the workshop I will send participants a PDF describing the most important rules of composition. It includes sample photographs to illustrating concepts such as framing, lines of repetition, leading lines, repetition of design, rule of thirds and more.
Sunrise: 5 hour workshop. Starts before sunrise at a beautiful sandy beach and continues with a hike to some waterfalls or a drive upcountry to photograph cows, horses, agricultural lands or the eucalyptus forest.
Sunset: This program is similar to sunrise, but starts 4.5 hours before sunset. Depending upon the weather we will start with the bamboo forest or a waterfall then work our way either upcountry or towards the beach along Maui's Makena coastline.
The cost is $500 per person. Family rates are available as are small group incentives. Participants should bring a tripod, several lenses, shoes for hiking and getting wet, drinking water, snacks, bug repellent and a sense of adventure. Call 808-879-0260 or email me for more information.
